Messrs. Chiu, Szeto & Cheng Solicitors was founded in 2000. Our legal practice is diversified and our fee earners have different specialised areas with joint venture firms around the globe.

Our Work in Mainland China

Our staff members have provided legal services across the border to Mainland China since early 1990s.

Our goals are to enhance cross-border trades and business co-operation between China Mainland and Hong Kong, and to exploit with our clients the huge business opportunity offered by “One Belt One Road” policy.

Since our law firm has been set up, we have been co-operating with law firms in different provinces and cities in the Mainland for the aforesaid goals, and we together provide services in almost all provinces and cities in China including Hong Kong and Macau.

In 2021, we set up a branch office in Qingyuan of Guangdong Province (廣東省 清遠市 ). We are the first Hong Kong law firm who set up a branch office in Qingyuan and in the eastern part of Guangdong Province. We here 3 partners who have acquired the qualifications of Greater Bay Area Lawyers: Mr. Chiu Kwok Wing Benedict, Ms. Lee Kar Man Carmen and Mr. Ng Ka Lok Laurence Sunny.

In 2025 we set up a joint venture law firm in Jiangsu province know as MouSheng-Chiu, Szeto&Cheng (Wuxi) Associate Law Firm（谋盛，赵、司徒、郑（无锡）联营律师事务所）.

Our Link with Other Jurisdictions

We have also established close working relationship with the legal professions in Europe, Singapore, Taiwan, Macau, Thailand, South Korea, India, the United States of America, the United Kingdom and Australia. These contacts have formed a valuable network for our clients when they require legal services in other jurisdictions.

Our Vietnam Branch

We set up a joint venture law firm in Hanoi, Vietnam known as “HKVN Law Firm” (中港越律師行) to cope with the Belt and Road development plan; and to provide the business interaction between Mainland China, Hong Kong and Vietnam, and to assist enterprises in China and Hong Kong to set up factories and companies in Vietnam.

Our Language Abilities

Most of the team members of our work force are fluent in English, Cantonese and Putonghua (Mandarin), some of them can speak Chinese local dialect and some can speak Japanese.
